01. THE SELF

Every visual language begins with its author.

In The Self, the photographer steps before his own camera—becoming both the observer and the observed, the sculptor and the material. Through hard light, saturated color, deliberate shadow, and controlled expression, these self-portraits establish the visual vocabulary of STUDIO ADAMS while examining the act of constructing one’s own image.

This is not simply an introduction to the artist. It is the first study of identity: the distance between who we are, who we imagine ourselves to be, and how we choose to be seen.
